Novo Edmundo Restaurant Website

Novo Edmundo, a beloved Portuguese restaurant established in 1964 in Pontinha (originally 'O Café do Vale'), needed a modern web presence to showcase their 60+ years of heritage and their specialization in Portuguese home cooking. Under current management since 1994, they had built a loyal local clientele and a strong reputation for group events and celebrations, with capacity for 135 people across 3 rooms. However, they lacked an integrated online ordering presence, their comprehensive menu (9 categories) was not digitally accessible, and they struggled to communicate their event hosting capabilities and three fixed menu packages (€30, €35, €40). Additionally, they needed to serve both Portuguese locals and English-speaking international visitors in the Pontinha area.

We designed and developed a fully responsive website with a comprehensive homepage and a dedicated Menus page, fully bilingual (Portuguese/English) with automatic language detection. The homepage covers Hero, About, Menu Cards, Orders (Uber Eats), Events, Reviews, and Contact; the Menus page presents the complete à la carte catalog plus the 3 fixed group menus and custom menu options with detailed rules and pricing. The contact form is backed by a dedicated serverless email service (Firebase Cloud Functions + Resend) with Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection, keeping the restaurant's contact channel spam-free without any manual moderation.
